Shawano Specialty Papers is the market leader of multiply adhesively bonded tissue primarily used in the high speed flexographic printing process used to manufacture decorative napkins. The patented UltraBond® process laminates multiple plies of tissue by applying a uniform adhesive across the sheet. The bonding process is unique to the industry and provides a more consistent bond than the spray on adhesive process and eliminates the problems associated with glue “chunks” or lack of adhesive due to plugged nozzles. The Shawano bonded tissue product uses a unique machine design and pulp mixture to improve print surface properties, minimize dust, and enhance the bulk of the napkin.
